Yan Zhang (Ph.D.)

Professor, the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Tianjin University, China;

Adjunct Professor, Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Zhang received his PhD degree from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, USA in 2006 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow and research scientist in the Department of Chemistry, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA. Before Dr. Zhang joined the faculty at Tianjin University (TJU), China, he was a senior scientist in the R&D Systems Inc. Minnesota, USA. Dr. Zhang specializes in Enzymology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Synthetic Biology, and Microbiology. Dr. Zhang has been a very productive and internationally renowned scientist. He has published dozens of research articles in high profile journals including Nature Communications, PNAS, Cell Metabolism, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Biochemical Journal, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, ACS Synthetic Biology etc.

His work has greatly been acknowledged by the academics and was interviewed multiple times by ACS C&EN. Some of his discoveries and inventions such as the genetically engineered blue rose (first blue rose in the world) caught global media attention. Dr. Zhang is a director board member of Bio-Trace Element Society of China, a Member of International BioIron Society and American Society for Microbiology. Dr. Zhang serves as a reviewer for many academic journals and research funds including National Natural Science Foundation in China and an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Life Sciences. Dr. Zhang is also a successful entrepreneur. He is the founder and CSO of several companies in China and USA, including Meining Pharma in Tianjin, and Boston Molecules in Boston, MA.

Dr. Ammad Fahim (Ph.D. and MD)

Dr. Ammad Fahim is a medical doctor (Physician) and a research scientist. His academic and administrative experience of over 13 years has been pivotal in determining the growth and robustness of research labs. Dr. Fahim was awarded a medical degree (MBBS) by the University of Karachi. He also served at the world renowned Sir Aga Khan University where he worked in the area of Public Health, and Clinical Research as a Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA) in the projects funded by Rockefeller Foundation, USA and IDRC, Canada.

Dr. Fahim was awarded a Ph.D. in Virology & Immunology by the National University of Sciences and Technology in 2019. He served as project manager for an international grant (a collaboration with the University of California, San Diego, USA and HEC, Pakistan) on Hepatitis B viral and immunological determinants on Pakistani population. He also served at Shifa International Hospital initially as Senior CRA and later as Assistant Director of Clinical Research until 2018. During his service at Shifa, he had been associated with various multinational clinical trials conducted by Roche, GSK, Ferozsons, McMaster University Canada and London School of tropical hygiene and Medicine, UK in various capacities. Besides his academic credentials, he has been formally trained in clinical research from Kriger Research Center, Canada and From National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA via the Introduction to Principles & Practice of Clinical Research (IPPCR) certification. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor (Clinical Trials) at NUMS, Rawalpindi.

Prof. Dr. Peter Shaw (Ph.D.)

Honoree Research Fellow at Menzies School of Child Health, Australia

Prof. Peter Shaw is serving at the department of Artificial Intelligence of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST), China and an Honoree Research Fellow at Menzies School of Child Health. His core research encompasses the fundamental advantages of AI using Fixed Parameter Tractable algorithms. Moreover, recently, he has been analyzing medical, and public health datasets. Being the technical lead or team coordinator, he is working on several projects; many of which have won international grant awards.

Dr. Shaw’s research collaborations with people from different Countries and Continents is aimed at resolving fundamental human health problems using intelligent algorithms designed to analyze thousands of variables and nodes simultaneously. He advises PsiMega2 with regards to research innovation and incorporating AI into the fields of Digital medicine, Biotech, Pharma and Healthcare to design smart biotech devices and products of the future.

Nasir Jalal (Ph.D.)

The company is led by a dynamic and prolific researcher Nasir Jalal (PhD) who is a William J. Fulbright scholar, Marie Curie external fellow, Charles D. Tenney fellow and beneficiary of several other academic awards and honors. Dr. Jalal earned his doctoral degree in cell and molecular biology from the Colorado State University, USA in 2012 and worked on a project (Cancer Gap 3) funded by NASA, in preparation for the manned mars mission. He later diversified his knowledge of DNA damage and repair by coupling it with toxicology and molecular pharmacology through his post-doctoral training at the Tianjin University, China. 

He has been a faculty member of several Universities including Forman Christian University, National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan and Tianjin University China. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty of the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China. 

Besides being an avid researcher, he engages in technical consulting for several medium and large scale pharmaceutical companies based in US, UK and China).
